VENTURE TABLE @ VENTURE CAFÉ

Service Design, 2nd year, Quarter 8, 2017

by Jordy Kaiser, Bo Yuan, Gaëlle van den Dool

Venture Café connects innovators to create positive change in both local and global communities. They host the largest weekly innovation community event in Rotterdam. Students from Service Design conducted design research into the Venture Café. They shadowed and interviewed visitors and worked closely with the organisation. They discovered some wicked problems the VC: creating stronger and more qualitative relationships with their community. How? By organising, prototyping and designing co-creation sessions.

An example is the Venture Table. The Venture Table is a concept that aims to make connections between people in a playful way. It provides visitors with a conversation starter and a place to connect with other people. Through playful questions we invite the visitors to engage in the discussion regarding the topic of that evening’s session.
